CE Understanding Hearing Loss and Impairment and their Implications for the Caregiver 4

Description
This brand-new four-credit course provides the caregiver with a basic understanding of the auditory system and explores different types of hearing conditions that result in profound communication difficulties. The caregiver will learn information to help them understand their clients' frustration of not hearing well. The course will provide tangible actions to take so that the caregiver can create a greater level of communication with their client. The course will provide videos and pictures for the client to learn how to change batteries and clean hearing devices. It will also explain treatments that can help the client hear better. The final chapter will explore other options for communication for a client who is completely deaf. The course includes essential sign language instruction resources so caregivers can learn more independently if they have a patient who signs.
