After studying Unit One, the student will be able to:

  1. Recite at least four myths about hoarding and state what is the actual truth.
  2. List mitigating factors that increase the likelihood of someone becoming a hoarder.
  3. Explain the five levels of Hoarding Disorder and how the level corresponds to the amount of support someone needs to restore order and cleanliness.
  4. State what items people hoard and some of the health issues that happen with different types of hoarding. 
  5. Compare and contrast the definitions of hoarding and collecting and describe the differences in the thoughts and feelings behind the two activities.
